  3. There appears to be a fault on my copy of a recently purchased Deutsche Grammophon -CD/DVD/Booklet, how do I get a replacement?

  5. I need permission from DGG to use one of your recordings, or a part of one, for my film/play/advertisment etc. How can I obtain this permission?

  6. Please contact our colleagues at Universal Classics & Jazz in your country. Use the map to find the address.

  7. Has DG discontinued production of the SACD-format?

  8. No, although we have reduced the number of SACD releases, we are still actively looking for further opportunities.

  9. An item on your website is not available in my local shop. Why not?

  10. The releases presented in this website, whether in CD News, the Catalogue or any other sections are DG's international releases. These are in fact distributed and marketed to retailers and to you by separate Vivendi Universal Classics & Jazz operating companies in over 40 countries. Each company, at its discretion and within certain limits, can choose to retain only those items in its local catalogue which sell best in its market. You can still ask your shop to import an international item, even if not available locally, though this will cost a little extra.

  11. I have an old recording of which I want a new copy, but it seems not to be available either locally or in your international catalogue. Is there any way still to find it?

  12. Yes. Check our online catalogue using the text search function to find out if any of the repertoire is available on another release under another catalogue number. Just enter any word from the title of the piece or the name of the composer. If you still do not see it, that means that it is currently not available.

This should not be the end of your search however. Send us an e-mail. We offer a service whereby we will provide you with the last catalogue numbers under which the repertoire appeared before being deleted. With these you can search for the CD in second-hand stores of which there are a number that will take over the search for you!

  13. Is there a full discography of all the DG releases ever made?

  14. Since we are able to keep only a small proportion of our total catalogue available internationally at any one time, we do not at the moment offer this service. It is however, still possible to buy old DG catalogues from antiquarian bookselling websites.

  15. Do you have a version of your catalogue suitable for e-mailing to me or one downloadable from your website?

  16. We are sorry, but we do not currently offer this service.

  17. What will be released or re-released by Deutsche Grammophon in the near future?

  18. Please see the section What's Coming, where we show you the confirmed releases for the next six months.

  19. Why can we not buy our product from you directly via the internet?

  20. We do not sell our recordings from our international website, because we are part of Universal Music Group and benefit from their worldwide Classics marketing & distribution operations in over 40 countries around the world.

  21. What are DG's plans for DVD-Video and DVD-Audio?

  22. Please see our DVD for details on our current and future DVD-Video releases.
As for DVD-Audio, we are not releasing DVD-Audio yet. Universal Music Group has not given the green light to the use of this format due to the ongoing negotiations on the copy protection agreement within the industry.

  23. I'm interested in vinyl recordings; do you still press them? Where can I buy them?

  24. There are two companies that manufacture LPs under licence from DG. http://www.speakerscorner.de and http://www.clearaudio.de

  25. Why do you not feature series such as Eloquence, Double and Classikon in your catalogue?

  26. These are local series that are available only in a few countries. We regret that we are not currently able to show information about these series in this website.
