AN APP FOR ALL SEASONS
With Deutsche Grammophon and Touch Press's award winning masterwork app "Beethoven's 9th Symphony" from 2013 approaching the 1 Million download mark, we are proud to present our follow-up app with Touch Press: "Vivaldi's Four Seasons", released May 29 in the iTunes App Store.
This app tells the story of two composers (Antonio Vivaldi and Max Richter) and their take across the centuries on Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Once again the app draws on the unprecedented synchronized score-, BeatMap- and multi-channel video technology of our partner Touch Press. It also offers a Story section that is bursting with text-, audio- and video commentary, including UK broadcaster Suzy Klein presenting Vivaldi's original and Max Richter presenting his own Recomposed, as well as further fascinating comment from Daniel Hope and Avi Avital.
Whether the user has a deep knowledge of classical music or is a newcomer, whether aware of Max Richter above all via his film music or a real fan, this app offers all users at every level an entertaining introduction and way-in to both of these works, regardless of which one the user might have thought he knew something about previously!
The original version is represented by the pioneering and timeless authentic instrument recording from 1982 by Trevor Pinnock and The English Concert (a bestselling recording in DG's Originals series). Max Richter's Recomposed version is an exclusive video recording for app, made on the same day and location as the concert film with Max Richter, Daniel Hope and the ensemble l'arte del mondo, just released a month ago.
The Four Seasons app, available for iPad only: 7.49 GBP / 9.99 EUR / 10.99 USD / 1000 Yen.
