Bryn Terfel at Bristol Proms
My Life In Song
Monday 28th July, 14:00
The Bristol Proms festival, inspired by the hugely popular concerts held in the city in the 1840s, presentes music performances in ways never done before by combining world-class classical music artists with cutting-edge digital technologies.
Bryn Terfel is a rare and extraordinarily powerful artist who has redefined what it means to be a classical artist. In conversation with John Suchet of Classic FM, Bryn will lead us through the story of his life in music, performing the pieces which have marked his life along the way. Bryn won his reputation through the music of Handel, and it will be an extraordinary thrill to hear him sing in our beautiful 18th century auditorium, which was built as this music was first being written. We will invite Bryn to reflect on what a classical concert was like when he started singing, what it is like now and what it might be like in 100 years' time.
