Pergolesi: Stabat Mater

Stabat Mater

We release the second album of the year on our joint label Verbier Festival Gold – a live recording of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater from the 2003 Verbier Festival. It stars the internationally acclaimed singers Anna Netrebko and Magdalena Kožená. Here they join forces with Giovanni Antonini and Il Giardino Armonico to bring Pergolesi’s last composition, one of the most exquisite baroque works ever composed, to celestial heights. Netrebko’s voice, celebrated for its purity, precision, and breathtaking charisma, intertwines seamlessly with Kožená’s refined and soulful interpretations.
