DG celebrates the 60th birthday of Christian Thielemann
Deutsche Grammophon celebrates the 60th birthday (1st April 2019) of Christian Thielemann with a 21-CD limited edition set bringing together his Complete Orchestral and Choral Recordings on the Yellow Label. Including recordings with the Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Staatskapelle Dresden and soloists Lisa Batiashvili and Maurizio Pollini, the edition also comprises a personal foreword by Thielemann himself and an interview with the conductor by President of Deutsche Grammophon Clemens Trautmann, plus new photographs of the conductor in rehearsal providing a window into his personal approach to the craft of conducting – all taken from the book Christian Thielemann Conducting (Edition Lammerhuber).
