Frieder Bernius and his Kammerchor Stuttgart, together with the Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, release their album, on which they perform Louis Spohr’s passion oratorio Des Heilands letzte Stunde, a practically unknown jewel of early 19th-century sacred choral music. The work is an almost unknown jewel of early 19th-century sacred choral music. The seven outstanding soloists on the album include Johanna Winkel, Maximilian Vogler, Florian Sievers, Arttu Kataja, Thomas E. Bauer as well as Felix Rathgeber and Magnus Piontek.
The album is released digitally and further contains an essay on the composition as well as an e-booklet featuring the complete sung texts by the poet and music critic Friedrich Rochlitz.
