Introducing Peaceful Piano Moods - A Timepiece of the Hours of Day and Night.

Peaceful Piano Moods - Site News
03/25/2022

Peaceful Piano Moods is a genre-dissolving proposition, released by Deutsche Grammophon on 25 March 2022 in digital format and on CD, that helps the listener glide from one genre to the next.

Featuring over 50 outstanding soloists from Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Mercury KX and Universal Music Australia, this is a literal A–Z of artists from Martha Argerich to Lilya Zilberstein. It also has a contemporary slant, with composers such as Joep Beving, Ludovico Einaudi, Lambert, Chad Lawson, Stephan Moccio and Vangelis performing their own works, as well as remixes such as Vivian Roost’s of Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 2, and ‘reworks’ such as Víkingur Ólafsson’s of music by J.S. Bach and Rameau.

Carefully curated to provide a seamless listening experience, in a short time span, the listener can move from Albéniz to Benny Andersson, via Yiruma, and back out through Chopin to Secret Garden and Luke Howard.

Each CD and e-album is themed around a specific time of day – morning, afternoon, evening, night – and carefully curated to provide a soundtrack to your day and night. A 100-track 4-CD set (and digital mirror) features over 5 hours of calming piano music. Five extended e-albums offer a total of 185 tracks and more than 11 hours of listening bliss.

Through this journey, the listener experiences all the colours of the piano: the concert grand of course, solo piano, piano duets and piano four-hands, and the upright felted piano, increasingly used by such artists as Joep Beving and Stephan Moccio.

Specially composed for this collection is a brand new track recorded specially for this collection by Chad Lawson entitled Of Twilight Skies. Also included are six new tracks from the gifted Australian-Vietnamese pianist Van-Anh Nguyen, focusing on piano arrangements of evocative movie themes.

Peaceful Piano Moods provides a window to a journey to calm, focus and relaxation whatever the time of day, making this the perfect album to relax or study to. The extended 11-hour playlist, played continuously, will virtually capture all four times of day it represents.
