CONRADIN KREUTZER

Frieder Bernius and the Kammerchor- and Hofkapelle Stuttgart release today a recording of the rarely-performed Conradin Kreutzer’s Romantic opera “Der Taucher” on our partner label Carus. Presenting lyrical melodies and colourful instrumentation, the work was premiered in 1813 at the Stuttgart court theatre. Kreutzer subsequently re-worked the score for later performances in Vienna, resulting in the version more commonly performed today. Frieder Bernius however, has here recorded the original version together with soloists Sarah Wegener and Philipp Mathmann (both soprano).
