On his second album for DG, blind Japanese star pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii turns to the emotionally strongest sound worlds of Russian Romanticism.&nbsp;
Together with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under Domingo Hindoyan, Nobu performs Rachmaninoff&rsquo;s Piano Concerto No. 3, one of the most technically demanding works in the piano literature. This is complemented by carefully selected solo piano transcriptions of works by two of Rachmaninoff&rsquo;s most important forerunners, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Piano transcriptions are fascinating because the arrangers are usually outstanding pianists. They know exactly what is needed to get the maximum out of the instrument. It&rsquo;s always a pleasure to play these pieces,&rdquo; says Nobu.&nbsp;
The album is released digitally and on CD.&nbsp;

Recorded on our joint label Verbier Festival Gold, we release an album of Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii's (Nobu) debut recital at the Verbier Festival in 2022.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Blind since birth, Nobu has captivated audiences worldwide since winning the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009. His performances are a profound testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries. At Verbier, the pianist delivers a dazzling program featuring Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 2 alongside works by Liszt and Beethoven&rsquo;s Moonlight Sonata.
