On his upcoming EP A Day in Sketches – Colors of Time, composer, producer, and pianist Yu-Peng Chen presents a collection of intimate piano compositions designed to invite stillness, reflection, and restoration. Rooted in minimalism and emotional clarity, the project explores music as a space for quiet listening and inner calm. 

Described by the artist as healing music, the release centers on the natural resonance of the piano, allowing melody and silence to work together. Each track unfolds gently, encouraging mindful presence and offering listeners a moment to slow down and reconnect. The EP reflects Chen’s multidisciplinary approach as a composer and producer, balancing thoughtful composition with a warm, uncluttered sound.  

“Ideal for meditation, contemplation, or peaceful everyday listening, the project offers a subtle yet profound listening experience. Through the interplay of piano and environmental sounds, it invites listeners into a calm, natural soundscape, evoking the feeling of walking through a forest in the early morning or sitting quietly by a sunlit beach in the afternoon. Carried by gentle, flowing piano melodies, the music offers a moment to pause, rest, and reset, allowing listeners to step away briefly and return feeling refreshed, grounded, and restored,” says Chen.
