Guitarist Göran Söllscher’s upcoming album featuring works by Bach and Fernando Sor is released digitally for the first time as part of DG’s Concours series – a special vinyl collection, focusing on young artists who had already made a name for themselves at international competitions and were showcased here through early recordings.  To this day, the appeal of this series lies in the combination of artistic excellence, the joy of discovery and that special moment at the start of a career. You can hear musicians seeking their place on the big stage with fresh energy, technical brilliance and a palpable creative drive.   The two other selected projects from this series that are being released digitally for the first time include pianist Hans-Christian Wille’s album of works by Mussorgsky, Ravel and Ginastera, released on 4 September, and Dmitry Sitkovetsky’s album combining Bach, Paganini and Prokofiev, released on 18 September.  Listen to a pre-release track, the Introduction of Sor’s Morceaux de concert, Op. 54.
