Julia Hamari (born in 1942) is a Hungarian mezzo-soprano and alto singer in opera and concert, appearing internationally. She is one of the most important Lieder and oratorio singers of her generation, and also is an academic voice teacher in Stuttgart. Her new album featuring Lieder by Schumann, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert and Wolf is released digitally as part of DG’s debut series, which presents first or very early recordings by artists who went on to build considerable careers.
