Product Information

Conductor Christoph Eschenbach and the Verbier Festival Orchestra release their new album featuring Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 on our shared label Verbier Festival Gold. The fourth symphony conjures a child’s vision of heaven, a world where innocence replaces gravity.

A great contemplator of nature, Mahler believed that every work should contain a fragment of the infinite, and here that appears in a shorter form with reduced orchestral forces, marked by a child-like sense of wonder. Under the baton of Eschenbach, the orchestra traces a luminous path from the first to the final movement, its points of origin and ultimate fulfillment of the symphony.
