Product Information

On the occasion of the start of this year’s Verbier Festival on 16 July we re-release Belgian violinist Marc Bouchkov’s performances at the festival in 2021 in a special edition including an additional interview track, on which the artist talks about his relationship with Verbier and Ysaÿe.

Bouchkov’s two concerts in 2021 left inedible impressions on festival listeners. The artist had sky-rocketed to fame after winning the Silver Medal at the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition. Shortly afterwards he gave the two stunning performances at the Verbier Festival of works by Ysaÿe, both solo and with orchestra. His solo recital with the incredibly demanding Sonatas Nos. 5 and 6 offered jaw-dropping virtuosic fireworks. A few days later he joined Gábor Takács-Nagy and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra to perform Ysaÿe’s rarely heard Violin Concerto in E Minor.

Recorded on our joined label Verbier Festival Gold, this digital re-release is available exclusively on Apple Music.
