In our eighth Musical Moment we reach the recording that gives the series its name. Seong-Jin Cho performs the third (Allegro moderato) of Schubert’s 6 Moments Musicaux, Op. 94 D.780. Together with the impromptus these are among Schubert’s most often played piano pieces.

“Musical moments” can be moments of memories or reflection, a retrospect of the past or an anticipation of the future, that are enriched by hearing or thinking of a special piece of music in that same moment.
