The First of Everything

Composer-pianist-producer Eunike Tanzil announces her upcoming debut album on DG The First of Everything. The project reflects the versatility, sense of freedom and spirit of adventure that are all part of Tanzil&rsquo;s modern take on orchestral music.&nbsp;&nbsp;
&ldquo;There&rsquo;s a story behind each track, and all the tracks are based on personal experiences, specifically first experiences &ndash; the key moments in my life that shaped me into who I am today,&rdquo; she explains. &ldquo;Once I found the flow and knew what the album was going to be about, it all came very naturally.&rdquo; She tells her musical tales using great stylistic and instrumental variety, from more minimalistic pieces to sweeping, cinematic orchestral statements.&nbsp;
Working with orchestrator Max Knoth, Eunike recorded the album in Berlin with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester under the baton of Anna Handler. Tanzil herself on piano, celesta, bells and even snare drum, and includes contributions from DG cellist Sophie Kauer.&nbsp;
A first single Remembering is already available. The full album will be released on 12 September and is now available for pre-order digitally, on CD and on LP, including a crystal-clear vinyl LP with signed art-print poster, as well as limited-edition bundles featuring a digital masterclass with the composer.&nbsp;

Released on 12 September 2025, the recording reflects the versatility, sense of freedom and spirit of adventure that define this exciting young composer-pianist-producer&rsquo;s modern take on orchestral music. Its 12&nbsp;tracks trace a journey of significant personal firsts and reveal Eunike&rsquo;s gift for storytelling in music that ranges from minimalistic writing to sweeping cinematic statements. 
Recorded with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, the album is conducted by Anna Handler and features both Eunike Tanzil (piano) and Sophie Kauer (cello) as soloists. &ldquo;It was my childhood dream to have my debut album recorded by a large orchestra,&rdquo; says Eunike. &ldquo;I feel very grateful and honoured that I&rsquo;m part of this incredible project with so many great musicians.&rdquo;
Available on CD or crystal-clear vinyl LP, this limited-edition version of The First of Everything offers access to a digital masterclass with Eunike. This will cover how to develop a melody, capture different emotions and use the instruments of an orchestra to paint a canvas or tell a story in music, among other areas of composing.
