Product Information
On his new album, violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky combines Bach, Paganini and Prokofiev – and with them, Baroque rigour, virtuoso brilliance and modern intensity.
It is released digitally for the first time as part of DG’s Concours series – a special vinyl collection focusing on young artists who had already made a name for themselves at international competitions and were showcased here through early recordings.
To this day, the appeal of this series lies in the combination of artistic excellence, the joy of discovery and that special moment at the start of a career. You can hear musicians seeking their place on the big stage with fresh energy, technical brilliance and a palpable creative drive.
The two other selected projects from this series that were released digitally for the first time include guitarist Göran Söllscher’s album of works by Bach and Fernando Sor, released on 21 August, and pianist Hans-Christian Wille’s album of works by Mussorgsky, Ravel and Ginastera, released on 4 September.
The album is available digitally.
