KARAJAN - THE CHRISTMAS ALBUM | Deutsche Grammophon

Herbert von Karajan can without hesitation be described as one of the defining conductors of the 20th century.

This new Christmas album brings together, for the first time, excerpts from the famous Baroque Christmas Concert alongside a wide selection of festive favourites, including:

• Silent Night, Holy Night

• “Danse des Mirlitons” from The Nutcracker Suite

• Arcangelo Corelli’s Pastorale

• Ave Maria by Johann Sebastian Bach/Gounod

Featuring great artists such as soprano Leontyne Price, as well as the Berliner Philharmoniker and Wiener Philharmoniker, this collection provides the perfect soundtrack to an unforgettable festive season. The release also includes striking photographs of Herbert von Karajan and his snow-covered home in Anif, near Salzburg.

A unique album for the most festive time of the year.
