In 1973/74, Herbert von Karajan dared an innovative step forward to record orchestral works by Arnold Schoenberg, Anton Webern and Alban Berg with the Berliner Philharmoniker. The result was groundbreaking recordings of these composers of the Second Viennese School. The recordings have now been re-mastered and -edited from the original four- and eight-track tapes to achieve the highest possible audio quality. They will be reissued on 12 September on vinyl in a deluxe 4LP gatefold edition featuring the original artwork as part of our Original Source Series and are now available for pre-order.
