WITHOUT WIND, WITHOUT AIR: RARITIES / Roger Eno | Deutsche Grammophon

On his upcoming deluxe edition Rarities of his already released album Without Wind, Without Air, composer Roger Eno brings together eight previously unreleased tracks, carefully selected and newly sequenced to form a cohesive and standalone listening experience. 

The project offers a fresh perspective on the original album’s Berlin recording sessions by revisiting and recontextualizing previously set-aside compositions, presented by the composer as a thoughtfully curated new narrative. Blending intimate solo piano pieces with richly layered ensemble works, the music features accordion, clarinet, bass, strings and synthesizers. Eno himself plays piano, synths and accordion, and is joined by the Scoring Berlin strings – conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer – producer Christian Badzura (synths), Tobias Fleischer (bass) and Alexander Glücksmann (clarinet).
