The Swiss-Uruguayan pianist Homero Francesch (born in Montevideo in 1947) has been invited to perform as a soloist by the most renowned orchestras from all over the world and has taken part in numerous televised music productions. Francesch has further performed at numerous festivals and has held a professorship at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) where he has been teaching a soloist class over more than 33 years.  

His upcoming album of piano solo works by Schumann, Mendelssohn and Ravel is released on 27 February as part of DG’s debut series, which presents first or very early recordings by artists who went on to build considerable careers.
